The beginners guide to chiropractic treatment
01
Initial Consultation - 30 minutes
We ask if you could please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the new patient form before your appointment. Your chiropractor will take an in-depth medical history and perform a full physical examination which may include range of motion, palpation, orthopaedic testing, muscle strength testing, reflexes and a neurological examination. We do not take x-rays before treatment. Our chiropractors will only send you for imaging (X-RAY, CT, MRI, ultrasound) only if they feel it is necessary. Treatment will also be provided during this appointment.

02
Follow-up appointment - 10 minutes
During your second appointment, our Chiropractors will assess your response to treatment after the first visit. If you have been referred for any imaging, this is the time we will review the results with you. This appointment is vital in allowing you to understand what is going on with your body, what needs to be done to get you back on track and how long it will take.

NOTE: please note that if you have been recommended a Dry Needling or Shockwave Therapy appointment by your Chiropractor, this will be 20 minutes.

Standard appointments (10 minutes) /
Re-examinations (30 minutes)
Conservative treatment typically involves 4-6 weeks of regular care, with the frequency determined by your chiropractor and the specifics of your condition. However, individual progress can vary, with some patients improving more quickly or taking longer than the initial recommendation.

If it has been over 1 year since your last visit, a re-examination will be necessary. This re-assessment, similar to an initial consultation, ensures we accurately update your medical history and address any changes in your current condition.
